Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Crane Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead cranes and hoisting equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Repair or replace faulty components, including motors, control systems, wiring, and sensors

Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and company standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
  • Prepare service reports and communicate findings to supervisors or customers

Collaboration

  • Work closely with mechanical technicians, engineers, and other team members
  • Provide technical support and guidance as needed

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or a related field
  • Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Electrician or equivalent (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in crane maintenance or industrial equipment repair
  • Strong background in electrical systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in industrial and construction environments
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as required
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights

Compensation & Benefits

Requirements

  • Class 5 Licence (required)
  • Electrician Licence (preferred)
  • Trade Certificate (preferred)
  • Mechanical experience: 3 years (preferred)
